I lived! It's over, Erica came back earlier than I expected, I didn't drop any calls, and all is well. So... No more break for Lauren. I did a lot of work on my research paper over break, which made me feel good about myself. I was being very good about homework and sleep until evening 2, when I sat around gossiping with later at night than I really should have, and did not do a spec of homework. But it was fun, and it was a Tuesday night, so I don't really care. Tonight I have in-car drivers ed. There's one other girl in the car with me, but I don't know who it's going to be. That could be fun, or very, very bad. We shall see. Really, I'm not that nervous about driving anymore. The worst that can happen kind of already happened. There's no way this guy can be worse than the lady I had before, short of getting me in an accident. My dad's team -the Hoyas- made it to the final four for the first time in 20-some years! He's very excited. I'm really just as glad I won't be at home when they play the next game, though. He gets very excited and yells at the TV a lot. So I actually made small talk with the other intern at my office today. He's a nice guy. Don't get excited, he's a senior in college and too old for me. Makes all this nonsense a bit nicer, though. |

| | content | ] | hello, all! I'm in Florida! Aren't you jealous of me? I have been reading a lot, and going on long bike rides through the lovely nature reserve, and ACQUIRING VERY FAINT TAN LINES BOO YEAH! I LOOk SLIGHTLY LESS LIKE THE UNDERBELLY OF A FISH! My sister, who is tan enough to appear to be of some other race, tries to convince me that the fishbelly look is attractive. I'm trying to believe her because I think its my fate to be pale. So yes, we have been doing the normal beach stuff, although the Gulf is lamentably calm. I like my oceans to smack me around a little. It makes life more exciting. LOTS of good food, which makes me so, so, so happy. *singing* NO more dining hall... I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt now, which also makes me happy. Not all that much to tell, really. Very relaxing. Hanging out with my sister... my dad's wildly excited that Georgetown basketball is doing well... I bought a bathing suit today, which Dana says looks good and I think makes me look even more like an albino, but there's nothing much to do about that... watching movies with my family... you know, typical chill family vacation. Only two small fights so far, over missing sunscreen and me shutting blinds and doors my sister wanted open. Hmmm... I am very chill right now. Reading a book called "Twilight" which Chelsey Peko lent me. It's really good. The main character is really funny. Definitely one of the best written vampire books I've ever read. So I will stop short at saying nothing at great length, a skill I have honed in English class. Love to all! |
